Why not join us on Facebook?
If you're on Facebook then why not join the Fairfield PHAB group, it's another great way of keeping in
touch!
The philosophy of Fairfield PHAB is to offer an exciting program geared to the age, interest,
and ability of our members. This involves learning new skills; making new friends; and participating in the activities that
we undertake. .
Fairfield PHAB has a colourful history. During the late 80's and early 90's and under the leadership of Alice McMurray,
Fairfield PHAB enjoyed a very successful era. During the mid 90's the Fairfield PHAB closed down. In 2005, whilst working
at St John's Community Centre, the former meeting place for Fairfield PHAB, ex-member Phil Peel was asked to re-establish
PHAB within the Kensington and Fairfield area of Liverpool, and in January 2006 the new St John's PHAB opened it's doors for
the very first time, under the leadership of Phil Peel.
In 2007, it was announced that St John's Community Centre would be closing down, this provided a dilemma for the PHAB
team and it was decided that PHAB would remain open, but we would revert back to the original name of Fairfield PHAB.
After 6 long months from December 2007 - June 2008, PHAB would not run any sessions and would basically cease to exist.
Eventually in July 2008, all the hard work had paid off, we found new premises and we managed to keep the same PHAB team in
place.
We are delighted to annoucne that we have now found new premises and everyone at Fairfield PHAB wishes to thank L'Arche
Liverpool and especially Rae Lee, for all the help and support we have recieved and for allowing us to use their premises.
We are sticking to the original opening times that we used at St John's, which are Tuesday's 6pm until 8pm.
